Tracheal deviation occurs when excessive pressure in your chest cavity or neck pushes your trachea to one side of your neck. The trachea, often known as the windpipe, is a cartilage tube that permits air to enter and exit the lungs while you breathe. The trachea normally runs behind your larynx, right through the middle of your throat.
